America’s favorite game is back and The Sports Bank has you covered with the best and worst of what was Fantasy Football Week Ten
Holy Chicago Bears D/ST as they racked up an astonishing 36 points in standard scoring leagues. Playoffs are a mere three weeks away and those on the bubble are starting to feel pressure each week.

Fantasy MVP: RB Arian Foster (186 Total YDS and 2 TD = 30 points)
Despite missing a few games to start the season, Foster has skipped all the way up the charts to become the second ranked RB. Only the Eagles LeSean McCoy has been better and that’s only because McCoy has played in every game this season. What makes Foster so dangerous is his ability to catch the ball. On Sunday, one of his touchdowns was a 78 yard catch and run. He has over 100 yards receiving in three games this season and just maybe could post a 1,000 yards rushing and 1,000 yards receiving, wouldn’t that be nuts? The Texans have a busy week ahead of them as they try to deal with some significant injury concerns over their bye week.
Honorable Mention: RB Michael Bush (29 points), QB Aaron Rodgers (28 points) and WR Larry Fitzgerald (26 points)
Disappointing Performance of the Week: QB Matthew Stafford (329 YDS, 1 TD and 4 INT = 9 points)
Stafford was the main reason the Chicago Bears D/ST had such a great day this past Sunday. After the game, we learned that Stafford was wearing a glove because of a fractured right index finger. While Stafford said the glove had no impact on his four interceptions, I find that hard to believe. Of Stafford’s 60+ throws, few were very accurate and the Lions offense looked to be out of sync on all levels. It was a bad week for Stafford and going forward, I wouldn’t put too much stock into the Lions until they can prove they have other weapons besides the uber-talented Calvin Johnson. They have a perfect chance this next week when they meet a struggling Carolina Panthers defense.
Wasting Away (Best Bench Player): WR Denarius Moore (5 REC, 123 YDS and 2 TD = 24 points)
Going all the way back to Thursday, Moore was a pleasant surprise against a soft Chargers secondary. Moore took advantage of QB Carson Palmer loosening up in the Raiders’ offense and was beyond fast down the sidelines. The only problem was that he was started in only 14.4 percent of fantasy leagues. Next up is the Minnesota Vikings secondary, a unit the Packers carved up with ease.
Somebody Pick Me Up (Best Free Agent): WR Laurent Robinson (3 REC, 73 YDS and 2 TD = 19 points)
I’m fairly sure I’ve had Robinson in this spot before (after he put up 16 in week eight) and yet he’s owned in only 13.1 percent of leagues. Miles Austin is still out for at least another week and Dez Bryant/Jason Witten draw a lot of attention from opposing defenses. That leaves Robinson who appears to have good chemistry with QB Tony Romo. A trip to Washington D.C. next week shouldn’t slow this guy down any.
Ravens TE Ed Dickson (19 points, 5.7 %), Titans WR Damien Williams (16 points, 1.7 %) and Raiders QB Carson Palmer (15 points, 25.7 %) should also be considered for roster spots in the upcoming week.
Hurts So Bad (Worst Injury): Texans QB Matt Schaub (fractured foot)
On Monday, news broke that Schaub will miss the rest of the season because of a fractured foot. The injury occurred when a member of the Tampa Bay Bucs fell on his foot during a quarterback sneak. This is a huge loss for a 7-3 Texans team who looked like one of the best teams in the NFL. Already without star WR Andre Johnson and DE/LB Mario Williams, the Houston Texans are the 2011 version of the Green Bay Packers. Except now they have to Matt Leinart to take over a team led by RB Arian Foster. I don’t think Foster will be affected much by this, but Jacoby Jones, Kevin Walter and Owen Daniels are not as valuable without Schaub. As for Leinart, I wouldn’t consider him unless you are really desperate for a QB in a super deep league.
